The National Institute for Economic Research joined the European Charter and Code for Researchers

 

On 11 February 2014, the National Institute for Economic Research (NIER) issued the Declaration of accession to the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, through which it agreed on the principles and conditions set out there in.

These two documents adopted by the European Commission on 11 March 2005, includes key elements - to make research an attractive career, as an essential part of stimulating economic growth and job creation. They specify the roles, responsibilities and prerogatives of researchers and employers.
Charter and Code contains 40 principles and general conditions which are structured in 4 dimensions, such as: Ethics and professional aspects; Recruitment; Working conditions and social security; Trainings.

Through this Declaration the NIER voluntarily undertakes to apply in its activity the principles set out in Charter and Code of Conduct and established aimed at creating an attractive environment for its researchers' career and improving the quality of research and innovation activity.

The first kick-off meeting of the project “Introducing EU standards in Moldova: towards a new model of cooperation and planning” took place on March 21, 2014. The representative of the following institutions attended the meeting: National Institute for Economic Research, Inspiro Consulting LLC, Szent Istvan University, Slovak University of Agriculture, University of South Bohemia, European Movement Forum.

The first kick-off meeting within the project: “Introducing EU standards in Moldova: towards a new model of cooperation and planning”

The National Institute for Economic Research will organize the first kick-off meeting of the project: “Introducing EU standards in Moldova: towards a new model of cooperation and planning” on March 21, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

The main aim of the meeting is to set up the sustainable platform of cooperation between partners of the project and to develop the WBS and the responsibility matrix of the project. A short presentation of the project will be made during the meeting and afterwards, there will be discussed cooperation and planning in V4 countries, regulatory framework, main tools and best practices on cooperation and planning in each country.

The representative of the following institutions will take part into the meeting: National Institute for Economic Research, Inspiro Consulting LLC, Szent Istvan University, Slovak University of Agriculture, University of South Bohemia, European Movement Forum, USAID.

The project aims to contribute to regional development through increasing steering capacity of public administration and competencies of the institutions responsible for development in Moldova.

The project consists in strengthening the self-governance and local democracy, good management practices in the local administration with respect to V4 countries experience. As well the character of the project consists in strengthening the cooperation between V4 and Moldova local public representatives.

National Institute for Economic Research implements the FP7 project "Exploring the potential for agricultural and biomass trade in the Commonwealth of Independent States"

 

Since January 1, 2014, the National Institute for Economic Research is implementing the project "Exploring the potential for agricultural and biomass trade in the Commonwealth of Independent States" (AGRICISTRADE). It is a part of the FP7 cooperation projects and the consortium is made up of institutions from the following countries: France, Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia, Lithuania, Austria, Belgium, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russian Federation and Ukraine.

On 31 of January 2014, the Council of Ambassadors of Visegrad Fund approved grant projects submit­ted within last year’s dead­lines of Extended Standard Grants. From 23 accepted projects, the project entitled Introducing EU standards in Moldova: towards a new model of cooperation and planning has been approved.

“Economic relations between Moldova and US:

 achievements, challenges and perspectives”

The Pennsylvania State Senator, Mr. Mike Brubaker from the 36th Legislative District will make an official visit to Republic of Moldova from 22 to 28 July, 2013 afforded by the Legislative Fellows Program, managed by American Councils, whose main objective is to enable Fellows to share their knowledge and experience with peers in Eurasia and America.


Chairing the State Finance Committee since 2011, Mr. Mike Brubaker would meet during the visit the representatives of the financial and main and regional tax authorities, as well as of other important structures representing the cultural, legislative and economic areas of the country.


To discuss from a scientific perspective the patterns and potential of Republic of Moldova – United States of America economic relations, the National Institute for Economic Research is pleased to invite all interested persons to attend the roundtable “Economic relations between Republic of Moldova and USA: achievement, challenges and perspectives”, with the participation of Mr. Mike Brubaker and the experts of the main Moldovan research organizations.

Euro zone crisis and its impact on Moldova

Dr. Ricardo GIUCCI (German economic team leader in Moldova) had a presentation on «Euro zone crisis and its impact on Moldova" within a workshop at the IEFS
On February 27, 2013 at the Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics (IEFS), Dr. Ricardo GIUCCI (Head of German Economic Team (GET) in Moldova) had a presentation in the frame of the workshop entitled “Euro zone crisis and its impact on Moldova ".
Presentation made by german expert, included related topics on Euro zone crisis phenomenon, especially banking and financial crisis. In this context, a particular attention was paid to the subject on euro zone crisis impact and possible scenarios and solutions for the Republic of Moldova.
The event was attended by 30 persons, both from the Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics, as well as, from the National Bank of Moldova, Organization of Investment and Export Promotion of Moldova, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova and from academic and civil society.
At the end of the workshop, it was signed a Memorandum of Understanding between IEFS and GET for a better collaboration between these two institutions.
