China’s fast pace Development- an impressive example of development

During the period of 13 October to 2 of November, Cristina Panfil, scientific researcher from National Institute of Economic Research represented Republic of Moldova at the “2016 Seminar on Economic Globalization and China’s Manufacturing for Developing Countries”. The seminar took place in Beijing-(two weeks) and in Hangzhou (one week). To the seminar participated officials from 19 countries. From Republic of Moldova was one official-from NIER. The seminar comprised lectures and excursions to the top Chinese corporations.

Experts from Latin America, Europe and Central Asia met on May 24 and 25 in the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Halle, Germany, to exchange experience and lessons learned from the implementation of various export promotion programs. Republic of Moldova was represented by Mr. Alexandru Stratan, Director of the National Institute for Economic Research, who made a presentation on the Design of the National Program for the Agri-food Export Promotion in the Republic of Moldova.

Providing alimony to children with divorced parents meets difficulties.

Chisinau, May 13, 2016
– Demographic Research Centre of the National Institute of Economic Research ASM organized the round table dedicated to the International Day of the Family. The event presented the results of sociological research: Providing alimony to children with divorced parents ”, showing that the number of cases involving determination of child alimony represents 75% of all cases of dissolution of marriage involving minors, and less than a quarter of cases, debtors pay alimony regularly.

 

      

 


Agrifood trade policies in the post-Soviet states have become the subject of research at FAO

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has published a research paper in Russian, dedicated to the agrifood trade policies of the 12 post-Soviet states. "Overview on agrifood trade policy in post-Soviet countries during the years 2014-2015" represents the first work in the series of planned publications.

Regionally, overall, a constant rise in the share of food products in trade has been noticed, however, after the research, essential differences of national policies in different countries were found.

Project introduction of the new priority "GREEN ECONOMY FOR SMES" in the Action Plan for 2015 – 2017 for the implementation of SME Sector Development Strategy for 2012-2020

Project duration: 01.09.2015-20.12.2015

 

The need to develop green economy is promoted lately more frequently nationally and internationally, gaining support from both the governments of many European countries and at the EU level.

The Moldovan government has also aligned to the development of green economy commitments, recorded in the National Development Strategy "Moldova 2020" and the National Environmental Strategy of the Republic of Moldova, but they are not directly related to green SMEs development.

 

 


Study visit in Slovak Republic

In period of 27th October - 30th October 2015, 7 representatives of agriculture associations, academic institution and Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova will undertake a study visit in Slovak Republic. The scope of the visit is to undertake strategic and operational good practices of local agriculture association from Visegrad countries and to allign them in Moldova.

The European Commission awarded the logo "Excellence in Research" to the National Institute for Economic Research

The National Institute for Economic Research's comprehensive analysis and action plan meet all the requirements for the use of the ‘HR Excellence in research’ award.

 

Thus, the National Institute for Economic Research (NIER), on September 6, 2015 became the first institute in the field of science and innovations from the Republic of Moldova that was awarded the logo "Excellence in Research" by the European Commission from Brussels.

This event is very important for all NIER’s researchers because it makes them more responsible in order to make remarkable efforts aimed on improving and adjusting the research environment from NIER to the standards and values included in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers which were adopted by the European Commission on 11 March 2005 and which contains the basic elements of EU policy aimed on increasing the attractiveness of profession of a researcher.

This appreciation of the NIER by the European Commission will significantly contribute to the increase of visibility on the international level by creating new opportunities for scientific collaborations.

Academy of Sciences of Moldova hosted the June 5 a roundtable on innovative development of administrative-territorial units, such interaction and communication platform between academy, government, business environment and local authorities being organized for the first time.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Cyril Gaburici, representatives of the Presidency, the Legislative, the Executive, the Court of Auditors, academics and university, business and NGO sector, district heads and mayors.
