On 12-13 October, National Institute for Economic Research (NIER) organized the Twelfth Edition of the International Conference on Theoretical and Applied Economic Practices „Economic Growth in Conditions of Globalization: Models of Sustainable Development”.

The event was opened and moderated by Mr. Alexandru Stratan, c.m. of ASM, PhD, prof., NIER’s Director, and gave the floor to Mrs. Aliona Susanu, state secretary of Ministry of Economy, to Mr. Victor Moraru, academician-coordinator of ASM, and to other persons which were delegated to take part at this scientific event.
Within the plenary session, had presentations 3 keynote speakers: Mr. Alexandru STRATAN, c.n. of ASM, dr. hab., prof., director of NIER; Mr. Karl William VIEHE, B.A., M.A., J.D., M.L.T., Columbia University, USA and Mr. Emil DINGA, Prof, Romanian Academy of Sciences.
The Conference gathered many researchers, doctoral and masters’ students, business people from the Republic of Moldova and abroad in order to discuss and debate the major issues of economic, financial, social and demographic problems. Participants were both from Moldova and other countries as: Romania, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, the USA, etc.
The event ended with a question and answer session, and there were made proposals for a final Conference Resolution.
